Thumbprints of local peple turned into labyrinths or mazes

THUMBPRINT LABYRINTHS

Client - HMP Properties

Members of the local community in Mosborough were asked to give their thumbprint which were turned into geometric labyrinths as part of the public art provision for a new housing development.

I worked with Mosborough Historical Society to find local people who are important to the community. A stand-out was meeting Mr Fred Rotherham, an 89 year old ex-miner, who I met in a brilliant butty shop next to where the pieces ended up.

The designs were hand-cut into pieces of memorial quality Yorkstone, and installed on the high street.
